Dinner it up!

I was perusing PAGES (and I mean 241 pages) of wallpaper online last night, preparing for the painting/wallpapering prep work that is going to take place in my new condo one week from today. YAY! I came across this wallpaper...

I don't know that I would ever use it, unless I had a huge walk-in closet that I wanted to decorate, but it reminded me of my childhood. This will most definitely age me, but does anyone else remember when Wendy's (the hamburger chain) had their tables made of old newsprint similar to this? I remember the tables and the glass beads that hung around the line that you would wait in to order. Boy, did I love Wendy's. It is actually still my favorite fast food burger joint.

Anyway, if you don't remember, here is a chance for you to step back in time. Enjoy.

I feel stimulated!

I got my stimulus check today and I must say, it feels good to get $600 in the mail that I wasn't necessarily expecting. I was thinking though...how many of us, as Americans, would have been willing to forfeit our stimulus checks in order to end the war? Not that one really has anything to do with the other, but I'm just supposing. I know I would have. I mean, I'm happy to spend the money decorating my new apartment and all, but I would be happier knowing that all of those soldiers could come home to their friends and family.

But since talking politics is B-O-R-I-N-G, look at this kitty...

Happy 4th! (a day late)

I don't know about you, but I had a fantastic 4th of July this year. I went to, not one but, TWO bbqs, spent time with great friends and ate lots of delicious food.

At the afternoon barbeque, I was relaxing in a lawn chair taking in the sights...dogs frolicking, friends playing horseshoes and one of the cutest little boys I've ever seen...

Meet Cole.

As I was taking all of this in, I noticed this...

Meet Deb and Jay.

Notice the concentration of their faces. I had to go in for a closer look...
(if you are a vegetarian or have a weak stomach, I would think twice before watching this clip)

Jay's smile at the end of the video says it all.
